Exploring the benefits of CBD over alcohol

I don’t know about you but there are some days at work when the thought of an evening glass of wine starts to enter my head before lunch. I can almost imagine that “buzz” of relaxation I will feel within my first few sips. Since embarking on my own wellness journey, I have taken a more natural approach to de-stressing when I get home. Along with exercise and eliminating most processed foods from my diet, making mocktails with CBD infused seltzers is my new “go to”.

In recent years, the popularity of CBD has surged, with many touting its potential benefits over alcohol. Let’s explore some of the potential benefits of CBD infused beverages and products over alcohol.

1.) HEALTH AND WELLNESS

Many look to alcohol for its fast-acting relaxation benefits. However, these benefits are short lived and are actually toxic to our bodies.   Alcohol can cause impaired judgement, dehydration, affect sleep, and cause depression. Long term, alcohol can lead to liver disease and addiction. CBD, on the other hand, has shown to have potential therapeutic benefits such as decreased anxiety and depression, reducing pain, and aiding in sleep. CBD’s interaction with the endocannabinoid system may contribute to overall well-being by promoting balance and homeostasis in the body.

2.) NON-ADDICTIVE NATURE

While alcohol dependency is well documented, CBD is not known to be addictive. Meaning, when taken daily, one doesn’t need more and more to receive the same benefits. This makes it a safer option for those who are looking for a healthier way to manage stress or simply calm their mind at the end of the day.

3.) MINIMAL SIDE EFFECTS

CBD is generally well tolerated. Most “side effects” of CBD are a calmer mind, less anxiety, and an ability to focus on what is important without all those racing thoughts. Certain individuals, when using higher doses, may experience minimal side effects of dry mouth, drowsiness, diarrhea, and a reduced appetite. Alcohol, on the other hand, can cause intoxication, impaired judgement, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and hangovers. Long term, alcohol can lead to liver failure or cancer.

4.) POTENTIAL FOR SOCIAL CONSUMPTION

CBD offers an alternative for socializing without the negative effects of alcohol. Many people find that CBD can help reduce social anxiety and promote relaxation in social settings, making it a compelling option for gatherings and social events. No need to worry about what happened at the office party because CBD can calm the mind without the euphoria and intoxication commonly experienced with other substances.

5.) VERSATILITY

CBD comes in various forms which makes it easy to cater to an individual’s preferences and needs. Looking for a Mocktail? A CBD infused seltzer or beverage is a great choice. Need to be more discreet? Gummies, capsules, and tablets got you covered. Do you like to vary your dose or require a specific amount? A tincture provides fine-tuned dosing and versatility. The options are endless! Wellness has never been so easy!

6.) LEGAL AND ACCESSIBLE

With the legalization of hemp derived CBD in many regions, accessing CBD products has become easier than ever. This increased accessibility allows individuals to explore the potential benefits of CBD without legal restrictions.

IN CONCLUSION

While both CBD and alcohol offer relaxation and stress relief, the unique advantages of CBD make it an appealing choice for those seeking a healthier alternative. With its non-addictive nature and potential calming effects, CBD can be a good choice for those seeking to unwind without the intoxicating effects of alcohol.  As always, it’s essential to consume any substance responsibly and in moderation. Also, CBD can interact with medications just as alcohol can. Always consult a professional before using CBD to ensure it is the right choice for you.
